Angular Cheilitis also called cracked or split corners of the mouth or mouth corner sores is medically termed angular cheilitis, cheilitis, stomitis, or perleche is a widespread affliction that literally millions worldwide succumb to. Cracked mouth corners, is identified by nasty, red-looking splits at the angles of the lips.

While not life-endangering nor really contagious, the loathsome corner of mouth sores are extremely distressing and since they happen at the lip corners, they are displayed on the face causing continuous embarrassment and seriously limiting any social interaction.

Many more cases are seen in winter months than in the warmer months, though quite commonly flair-up can last for weeks, several months, but some extreme bouts of red irritated corners of the mouth last for several to many years, and some severe cases have been known to last throughout a person's life.

Angular Cheilitis Leaves Out No One!

It's a fact, that nearly everyone seems to be at the mercy of developing cracked corners of the mouth at some point during their lifetime. However, there are some segments of the population, that are more susceptible than others:

A. Those with a debilitated immune system. What is actually going down is that in the winter we may neglect to sleep warmly enough so forcing our bodies to endure a chillier temperature across the night, which has a tendency to suppress our immunological systems.

When our immune response is in an impaired state, the fungal bacteria, which cause Angular Cheilitis, are supplied the ultimate environment to develop the angry, red irritated mouth corners sores.

B. Ill-fitting dentures could also lead to the development of the distressing sores on the corners of the mouth. The poor fitting dentures could cause the mouth to shut further than it should causing little folds of skin to develop at the corners of the lips.

Angular Cheilitis Caused By Fungus

The candida fungus which always lives on the skin of the lips actually causes the repulsive and painful mouth corner tears, but it needs a moist environment in which to live and grow. The badly fitting dentures allow saliva to accumulate and stand in the corners of the mouth thereby providing a moist growing environment for the fungus.

C. Another and similar situation is provided when you experience a sudden weight gain. The same little moisture collecting folds round the mouth corners may develop due to the additional fat on your face.

Maintaining a healthy immune system can prevent many bouts of red irritated corners of the mouth. Throw an extra blanket on the bed during cold weather so you can sleep warmly reducing the stress on your immunological system. Make totally sure that you are wearing properly fitting dentures and, naturally, lose some weight to dispose of the folds around your mouth corners.

As in most things, prevention is the ideal cure, but if you do find yourself in the midst of a lengthened, humiliating, and painful session of Angular Cheilitis, you can dump it naturally using the Angular Cheilitis Cure.

I'm not kidding, and I know it is difficult to believe, but within just a few hours or at the most overnight with a simple set of instructions that you can quickly download on the web you'll be free of your burning repulsive affliction.
